July 5th Adventure To KMSN ( The Jet Room) & Lauderdale Lakes

N61US took to the skies this weekend with Susan Carson, Laura Delallo, Steve Carson, with Kevin @ the controls.  Laura had never been in a general aviation aircraft before and had some pre-flight jitters.  Once airborne Laura settled in and enjoyed the ride from the co-pilot seat.  Steve and Susan took in the views from the back seats.  The four enjoyed a GREAT breakfast @ The Jet Room @ KMSN airport.  We were joined @ by some special guests...a pair of F18's parked next to us on the ramp. On the way home we circled Lauderdale Lakes and the Carson estate.  A fun and safe flight was enjoyed by all!

Racing Into 2013

N61US reached a top speed for 2013 in a descent 01/07/2013.  215 knots over the ground.  The bottom right of the picture shows that in 9 minutes and 45 seconds we made it from KRFD (Rockford) border to 3CK (Lake In The Hills Airport)...What a ride !!!
Rockford Air Traffic Control: "N61US Welcome Home, Wow your haulin'!"

N61US reached a top straight and level cruise speed for 2013 in straight and level flight.  197 knots over the ground.  The picture shows that crossing the Iowa/Illinois border to 3CK (Lake In The Hills Airport) is ~92 miles to be traveled in less than 28 minutes.  We actually made it faster due to the 215 knot descent above!
